You’re Too Nice

We’re taught to play nice, to share, to be compassionate, and to practice the “golden rule.” I’ve followed suit for the past twenty something years and would like to think my ability to care for others is one of my best qualities.

So my question is, when did being “too nice” become a bad thing?

I hear that a lot, especially when it comes to how I feel about my ex.

The “Ex” Factor

I tend to view my old boyfriends like old sweaters. Thanks for the great times, but you’re too worn so I’m tossing you out or donating you to someone else. You don’t fit me anymore so there’s no need to keep in touch.

It’s usually easier said than done to cut ties with someone you’ve shared intimate parts of your life with, but I’ve always found it easier to move forward that way. I give lots of credit to those who can do the whole “let’s still be friends” thing and actually follow through with it.

Why Selling On Craigslist Is like Dating

Like many twenty-somethings, I borrowed money through college and grad school. I was fortunate enough to get several scholarships, but I still had to take out several private and government loans to pay my way. Thanks Uncle Sam! Unfortunately, I didn’t realize at the time that it would mean more than $65,000 in debt! Let’s just say if I lost my job tomorrow, I’d be in BIG trouble.

Let’s Get Physical

I was racking my brain trying to think of a topic for my debut article when Olivia Newton-John’s “Physical” popped into my head. Not sure why that happened. My brain is funny like that sometimes. But the tune turned out to be a brilliant muse.

Now, as much as I love exercise and cheesy music videos of Olivia sweatin’ it out in a gym, I’m not going to talk about that kind of physical. That’s right, I’m talking about sex (or anything related to sexual activity).
