Some people say don’t get your hopes up because then you will be disappointed. I will have to disagree with this statement. Without hope you’re not vulnerable. If you’re not vulnerable, then this will lead you to build up walls around your heart.
Don’t Put All Your Eggs In One Basket
By: On the DL Don’t Put All Your Eggs In One Basket It’s a saying we’ve all heard at one point or another, and it can relate to a variety of situations: job prospects personal life choices relationships you name it I’ve followed that advice all my life. I plan everything I can and try

Insanity Or Courage?
“Insanity: Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.” -Albert Einstein “Courage is not the absence of fear, but rather the judgement that something else is more important than fear.” –Ambrose Redmoon
Does Mother Always Know Best?
I received a Facebook message from a new Sip and Go Girl reader. Chris says,
“…I just want to tell you how much I am enjoying “Sip and Go Girl”!!! I look every day for the new writings! I love them all… ! I remember when I first told my mom that I was dating a guy 20 years older than me!! Her reply, “Well, you were born 40 so you’re actually 20 years older than him”!!!!! I LOVED that!!!! As rare as it was, her sense of humor did surface once in awhile!!!”
This is great stuff because I was inspired to remember some of what my mother Ann (seen holding me in the photo to the left) » Read more..
Obama Is A Snuggler, Too
By: Sip and Go Girl
Remember earlier in November 2012 when I said Republican former-vice presidential candidate was a snuggler, Mitt Romney was not a snuggler, Democrat Joe Biden was not a snuggler, and Democrat Barack Obama was a snuggler? Here is more proof. You probably already saw this pic. On election night, the President sent this via https://twitter.com/BarackObama. It’s he and the First Lady Michelle Obama.
So far, this is the most retweeted tweet in Twitter history.
He is indeed a snuggler!
What Is A Sip And Go Girl?
By: Sip and Go Girl
What is a Sip and Go Girl? People aren’t sure.
I knew people were unclear about the name when a former TV station colleague in California commented that more women than men would visit this website because, “Men aren’t genteel enough to sip.” Another friend recently suggested we meet up for a sip and go. And yet another person first thought the phrase was a euphemism for sex.

“Tales From Sip And Go Girl” Begin Next Week
Remember I talked about my Sip and Go Girl origins? I lept into a whirlwind of mostly online dating after my divorce, although I did plenty of dating before I got married.
Go to http://www.sipandgogirl.com/start-of-sipping-and-going/ from Novemvber 18 to refresh your memory.
Now, it’s time to begin actual tales of the dates and the men.
Read the first tale, “I Could Feel Your Heart,” next week. Eric the counselor claimed to feel true love emanating from my heart.
Wait. Who Is That Person (on Facebook)?
I’m on Facebook and have 520 friends.
On The DL has 737.
Wild One has 489.
High Hopes has 478.
Facebook is a busy place. And it lends a whole new dimension to relationships.
No, I’m not talking about Facebook as a dating site. Despite what my friend Gary says, the social media giant is not the new single’s scene.
Okay Gary might be kind of right. A 2008 Pew Internet and American Life Project shows one in five adults use Facebook for flirting.
How To Honor A Man
By: High Hopes
Speak to the king not the fool.
Just as the men are to build the house, women are to build the men.
We should be using masculine words to encourage and honor the men in our lives. This means words such as strong, intelligent, genuine, great, honest. That’s just to mention a few.

Making A Move
By: So It Goes
In the game of chess, you are taught to constantly examine the entire board in an effort to see two, three, five, ten moves ahead. This might work for chess but in the game of love and advice, we forget that we sometimes have to look ahead and see if our well-meaning advice can in any way be used to checkmate ourselves.
I have a friend named Bill.
Taking A Holiday From Relationships: It’s A Zoo
By: Wild One
Let me start by saying I’m not good at relationships. Not one bit. That’s because I don’t want to change for someone. And I guess I can find the drama someplace else. Like when I take my family to the zoo.
I decided to take my nephews to the zoo for a Halloween event.
What I didn’t realize was everyone else in town decided to do the same thing.
First, there is no arrow on the traffic light to get into the parking lot which is on a major busy street. While sitting in the turn lane for the fifth straight red light, my brother-in-law called to tell me to not even try to park at the zoo. “Go towards the baseball field and try there.”
Let’s Get Physical
By: On the DL
I was racking my brain trying to think of a topic for my debut article when Olivia Newton-John’s “Physical” popped into my head. Not sure why that happened. My brain is funny like that sometimes. But the tune turned out to be a brilliant muse.
Now, as much as I love exercise and cheesy music videos of Olivia sweatin’ it out in a gym, I’m not going to talk about that kind of physical. That’s right, I’m talking about sex (or anything related to sexual activity).

Me And Relationships: Back To The 1980s
By: Sip and Go Girl
I really like hearing about the ins and outs of relationships. I mean I really do.
My interest was piqued in the last three years while I was going through a separation and divorce. The marriages and partnerships of those around me were things to ponder.
Wait.
Actually I can go back to the early 1990s to see my interest in relationships. In 1992 I broke up with my first real long-term boyfriend and then began to pursue not one but two cooks working at the same restaurant as me. Then, one of my coworkers came out to me and me only and I began hearing about his adventures with same-sex dating. Life was so fascinating.
