I will have to disagree with this statement.
Without hope you’re not vulnerable. If you’re not vulnerable, then this will lead you to build up walls around your heart.

You’ve probably dropped an “L” bomb or two in your lifetime, especially if you’re like me.
I’ve never said it without meaning it, but now that I’m older I realize at least one of those statements was more of a “I don’t want to be without you I can see myself falling in love with you down the road so I’ll say it back to avoid being awkward.”

As a mass communication and English writing major, I’ve always found it interesting how one word can have multiple meanings. We all have a pretty good idea of what the word “love” means. If you don’t know the definition, Merriam-Webster online can show you at least nine of them! It’s a word that not only carries different meanings but also varying degrees of emotion.
Looking for love….
I can’t recall who had posted it, but I pulled the following from a friend’s Facebook wall recently:

I worked one summer with a communication studies class consisting of business students required to take the course. The class was Presentational Speaking in the Organization and this time around I talked about needs and the ability to persuade people. Appeal to people’s needs and you have a way to manipulate them with communication including advertising.
It’s Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs.
This means I know what you need.
I’m an ambitious person.
I’m ahead of the game compared to a lot of other people my age when it comes to my education and career. I credit that to my inner drive. Sure there are days when I feel lazy and a bit unmotivated, but overall if I’m going to do 
something, I give it my all. I like to be the best.

Personally I feel it is necessary to wait until I say “I do” before I have sex with someone.
I recently found myself in a short-lived relationship when my heart was not okay sealing the deal. The truth came out from me and honesty had to take the wheel. He is no longer talking to me because some men count sex as true love.
